While the Xenomorphs were eventually eradicated, the event itself left a lasting mark on Alien’s established continuity–especially for Weyland-Yutani. This sparked the Xenomorph infestation of Hadley’s Hope, leaving almost no one alive by the time Aliens' Colonial Marines arrived. Upon entering the vessel, the patriarch of the family, Russ Jorden, was impregnated by a Facehugger, as the ship held an entire chamber of Ovomorphs. One such family–the Jordens–went exploring outside the confines of the terraformed Hadley’s Hope into the barren landscape of LV-426, where they found the very same derelict ship from the first Alien movie. This settlement was called Hadley’s Hope, and it was home to people who worked for the company as well as those who used the settlement as an excuse to explore new worlds with the hope of discovering something valuable. In 1986’s Aliens, humanity colonized the moon LV-426 (otherwise known as ‘Acheron’) as a part of Weyland-Yutani’s ‘Building Better Worlds’ campaign. The Xenomorph species’ assault on Hadley’s Hope in the film Aliens is perhaps the most devastating Xenomorph attack in the series’ history, and movie fans don’t even know the half of it, as Aliens actually hid the massive fallout of Hadley’s Hope.
